In Memory

Marjorie Feldberg

Ms. Feldberg was born April 9, 1954, in Boston, where she was raised. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in communications. Ms. Feldberg worked as a television news reporter and anchor in Youngstown, Ohio, and Eau Claire, Wis. After working in television for several years, she moved back to Boston to earn an MBA at Boston University. After graduating, Ms. Feldberg worked for Bloomingdale's in New York City as a buyer, which enabled her to travel to many locations in Europe on buying trips.

Ms. Feldberg traveled to Alaska in 1993 for a kayaking adventure and fell in love with the state, moving to Anchorage shortly afterward. In Alaska, she worked at Berry Co. as a sales representative, consistently obtaining top sales awards. She also served on the Municipality of Anchorage Health and Social Services Commission.

Her family said: "She was an avid and skilled skier, skater, rodeo rider and general outdoorswoman as well as skilled at sewing, woodworking, furniture building and cooking and generally great at whatever she tried.

"While experiencing several major health issues in her last years, she remained active until only weeks before her passing. Even during her illness, Marjorie never lost her spirit and her will to live."

Her brother, Paul, said: "Marjorie and I shared many memories growing up. She always called me her 'baby brother' even though I was older. I taught her how to drive a standard transmission car. We would always find ways to entertain each other. I will miss her."

Ms. Feldberg is survived by her brothers, Paul and Warren, and their families; aunt, Mary; uncle, Morris; and many friends.
