I remember Bobby Gordon from F.A. Day.  Short to my tall, sharing smart groups, he called me by last name. DEEEEgan, he would say.  Blessings to you, Gordon.

Laast month was the tenth anniversary of Bobby's death, following a long and painful illness. We had  somewhat lost touch when  we went to University, and then  more so when he moved to Seattle. We reconnected when I moved to Vancouver, BC.  Bob was a writer, a great skiier, tennis player. He had this intuitive side to him that reached into the spiritual. He was generous  and caring. Even at the most painful times in his illness, he would still ask me how I was and try to be there for me.  He had a great and crazy sense of humour, he was accepting of others. Just a true friend. We had known each other since we were two or three.  When I go down to Seattle, I still feel his presence and miss him him.

Peter,

It is nice to remember Bobby Gordon. The last time I talked to him I was having my book club in New Hampshire read his book "The Funhouse Mirror." I also had just heard him on NPR talking about the book. One of my book club members said that that book changed her mind about capital punishment. I'm not sure I ever got that information to Bobby but I thought it was a great tribute to him that he moved her so. I have wonderful memories of spending time with him.

Hard to believe it's been 10 years since we lost Bob.  A brilliant, funny, courageous soul, whose memory is a blessing.
